ELECTRICAL ENGINEER II

POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Perform varied design engineering functions of a complex nature with prime responsibility in the electronics hardware and software area in support of existing products and new product designs with supervision.  Research, design, develop, test and install a wide variety of complex apparatus, components, equipment and machinery.  Design, construct and operate complex machinery and equipment used for the generation, transmission and distribution of energy on Provisur equipment.  Work with other engineers, service, production and sourcing personnel to obtain optimum utilization of equipment.  Possess strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, concepts, practices and theories.   

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY

Writing code for industrial computing equipment and also coding for PLC logic controllers.  This will entail software programming in Assembly, C, C++ and PLC's.

Process REA's, write ECN's for new or obsolete parts, schematics and BOM's for new and/or existing equipment.  

Travel as required to evaluate projects, install and troubleshoot engineering modifications.    

Maintain all schematics of company products, updating or modifying for product change or customer specials.

Will use test equipment, oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, counters and pulse generators to analyze a problem or signal timing, debug a design flaw or diagnose a machine fault.

Develop documentation to support engineering in the development, design or modification of products.

Work with Digital and Analog logic to be able to design electronic circuits.

Work with AC motors/drives and AC/DC servos to be able to program and tune a servo system.  

Breadboard test and debug electronic circuitry from existing and new designs to verify functionality of the design.

Accomplish work in an organized, timely manner producing necessary results in spite of unforeseen changes; communicate effectively and alert team members and supervision if deadlines are in jeopardy; maintain high ethical and quality standards; and correct your own errors; and, regularly produce accurate, thorough, professional work.  Additionally, recommend continuous improvement ideas and assist in implementation as required; take personal responsibility for service excellence, sustainability and safe working practices; and, understand and adhere to our Principles & Values and all company policies and procedures.                                

JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

          Knowledge of Imbedded Software, Process Control, C, C++, PLC programming or other high level programming languages.

          Must have familiarity with Digital and Analog Circuits AC/DC motors and Drive technology.

          Must be able to use test equipment.

          Working knowledge of Autocad Electrical is helpful

          Knowledge of MSDOS, MS Windows, and PC compatible hardware.

          Must have understanding of microprocessors, memory and interface circuitry.

          Have the ability to take an idea or concept from a clean paper design through production.

 

PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE

          Three to seven years of experience in a related field.

 

EDUCATIONAL AND/OR TRAINING REQUIREMENT

          Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
