Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. This role will be responsible for assisting the Finance Operations team with AR billing processes, cash application, and AP processes. The candidate should be comfortable in a fast paced, results oriented environment and exhibit timely communication with our clients and internal teams.

What you’ll do… 

  • Assume the responsibility of maintaining the daily cash application process and its timely management reporting.
  • Assist in monthly PEPM billing process and follow up on outstanding payments
  • Liaise with clients and other third parties on past due balances and other requests, while maintaining a strong relationship with timely responses 
  • Perform selected month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Assist with relevant Audit and SOX requests.
  • Actively seek to enhance knowledge of all internal policy and procedures
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes to increase efficiency 
  • Perform special projects as needed 

 

About you… 

  • 3+ years of corporate accounting experience 
  • Bachelors degree required 
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes  
  • Experience in a large healthcare system or similar organization is preferred 
  • Experience with annual external audit
  • Proficient in Excel 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Able to work and coordinate with other departments effectively 
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation 
  • Possess a process improvement mindset with a desire to consistently look for ways to improve efficiency and service 
  • Perform multiple tasks effectively and adapt to a changing environment 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary range for NYC-based applicants is: $60,000 - $80,000. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
