Business Development Representative Intern

We are seeking someone with little-to-no prior sales experience to join our Developers Tooling division, working with customers located in EMEA/APJ. In this role you will be responsible for elements of the overall sales journey such as qualifying new and expansion business via phone, email, and social media, reaching out to customers with expired maintenance and support to re-engage them, and prospecting cold and warm leads in our rich customer base.
You will have the chance to manage complete sales cycles for some opportunities from prospecting/qualification through close. Often the first point of contact with prospective customers, you will have the full responsibility for delivering stellar customer experience that will set the stage for continued engagement and growing interest in Progress’ technologies and expertise.

What you'll be doing most of the time:
  • Get exposure to all aspects of a software sales team – from prospecting for new customers through qualifying inbound leads, and working with existing customers for expansion or retention
  • Collaborate with sales managers and sales teams to refine strategies and approaches around prospecting and account penetration/expansion/retention
  • Run certain opportunities in a full-cycle capacity from prospecting/qualification to close
  • Maintain and update Salesforce.com to accurately track all relative customer data, business insights, and record of interactions
  • Use tools like Chorus.ai, Outreach.io, SalesLoft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify and qualify decision makers who can utilize Progress solutions
  • Communicate to customers the business and technical benefits of Progress solutions
  • Set and schedule discovery meeting appointments for other sales reps
  • Attend regular online and in-person product sessions to develop expertise in Progress products
  • Get a crash course on the Sandler methodology and software sales
Your profile:
  • Passion for sales and the tech industry
  • Enthusiastic, driven, and confident personality
  • Systemic and organized go-getter
  • Fluency in English is a must
  • Prior familiarity with Salesforce or other CRMs is a plus, but not required
  • Previous sales experience is a plus, but not required
