JOB SUMMARY:

In this Sales Engineering role, you will leverage your expertise of data storage, data connectivity and data analysis along with outstanding communication skills to ensure that our customers have a successful experience with our data connectivity products.

WHAT YOU’LL DO IN THIS ROLE:

  • Partner with both inside sales reps and field sales to win new accounts and drive revenue growth within existing accounts
  • Create and deliver compelling software demonstrations, targeted toward a particular customer’s environment and their specific business challenges
  • Provide sales support both to the sales reps and to customers during evaluations
  • Become a subject matter expert on our products, our customers, and the markets in which we compete
  • Demonstrate thought leadership within the Progress portfolio as well as within our target markets

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, WE NEED SOMEONE WHO HAS:

  • A fundamental understanding of data storage technologies and data access methods
  • An understanding of both transactional and big data/analytics systems
  • Exceptional software and data connectivity troubleshooting skills
  • Prior experience of leveraging REST-based API’s
  • Additional consideration given for those who have existing programming skills which can be used to create custom driver prototypes
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data storage and analytics is a bonus
  • Credibility with customers by speaking with confidence and accuracy
  • Solid written and oral communication skills, including the delivery of sales presentations to both technical and executive audiences
