Senior Search Engine Marketing Manager

We are looking for an expert in the paid search space to join our team based in Sofia, Bulgaria. In this role, you will oversee the global Search Engine Marketing (SEM) strategy, managing the execution, activities, reporting, and budgeting with external digital agencies. Leveraging your expertise in paid search, you will collaborate with our demand generation and field marketing teams, web team, SEO team, and product marketing specialists to provide strategic input and guidance on campaigns across various search engines globally. You would need to have strong skills in web analytics and reporting to interpret and share insights and needed actions between our internal team and external teams. This role is important to the growth of our business and will need to meet regularly with senior stakeholders globally.   

 About the role: 

  • Possess a deep knowledge and understanding of Search principles, strategies, and tactics to lead the overarching SEM program for Progress 
  • Provide strategic input and guidance to building and maintaining a strong SEM strategy across all products aligned with the company strategy and business goals  
  • Own relationships with multiple vendors and internal stakeholders such as (Digital Agency, Google, Bing, demand generation managers, field marketers, and Product Marketing) to optimize our budget, tactics, and brand presence 
  • Monitor health of the account, define key metrics, and monitor dashboards daily, then advise and oversee actions and updates needed to achieve defined metrics. 
  • Manage monthly billing by facilitating timely invoice communication to finance and accounts payable teams  
  • Work with the demand gen & field marketing teams globally to set monthly ad budgets and track spending  
  • Partner with the SEO team – make sure to align both SEO and SEM for optimal value to the business   
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meetings that span different product lines and create projects based on business needs and requirements and ensure deadlines are met 
  • Possess an entrepreneurial mindset that is continuously finding new opportunities that drive improvement in our offerings and processes   
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and conversion funnel for paid campaigns that span across all accounts, products, and regions 
  • Stay on top of Digital Marketing trends and changes within the industry to ensure Progress is staying competitive with our ads and platforms   

 To be successful, you need to have: 

  • Knowledge of the KPIs related to campaign performance, what impacts them, and how to improve them   
  • Hands-on experience in optimizing content for search engines and the relevant search terms the business is trying to optimize for   
  • Extensive experience managing successful Digital Marketing campaigns from both a strategic and technical standpoint   
  • Experience working in a global company and collaborating across multiple teams and stakeholders 
  • Keen sense of teamwork, personal integrity, responsibility, and accountability  
  • Strong problem solving, cross-group, and leadership skills  
  • Excellent verbal and written English language communication skills  
  • Strong project management and meeting management skills  
  • Ability to influence stakeholders  
  • Experience with Adwords, Bing, Google Analytics   
  • Experience with Google’s Search Ads 360 and Campaign Manager platforms to optimize our use case is a plus
