The Information Developer provides functional expertise within the documentation domain for Progress Podio, with a primary focus on content quality, structure, and maintainability. This role ensures product documentation stays aligned with ongoing product development, so new features, updates, and changes are documented clearly and on time. The role also uses modern tools and evolving practices, including AI-supported approaches where they help improve efficiency, consistency, and content quality.
In this role you will:
• Create, update, and maintain Podio product documentation for new features, feature changes, and existing functionality.
• Ensure documentation is accurate, clear, structured, and easy to navigate.
• Organize and improve documentation architecture, including page structure, hierarchy, and consistency.
• Apply established documentation standards, templates, style guidelines, and customer-oriented writing practices.
• Review and refine content based on product changes, user needs, target audience, and internal feedback.
• Keep documentation in sync with product behavior and user-facing changes.
• Identify content gaps within the Podio documentation set and address them proactively.
• Participate in release planning and follow feature development to gather the information needed for accurate documentation.
• Work closely with Podio Product and Engineering teams to stay aligned on roadmap and release updates.
• Develop supporting documentation resources such as how-to guides, practical examples, and other user-enablement content, where needed.
• Build and maintain strong product knowledge in order to document functionality accurately and consistently.
• Interpret product and customer feedback and use it to improve technical content.
• Contribute ideas for improving documentation processes, standards, and ways of working.
• Use AI tools and related workflows where appropriate to support research, drafting, restructuring, and quality improvements, while applying sound editorial judgment and ensuring technical accuracy.
• Deliver documentation work in line with agreed plans, priorities, and deadlines.
Scope & Impact
• Solves documentation and structure problems within the Podio product area.
• Works independently on assigned documentation scope under defined priorities.
• Maintains high documentation quality and consistency across the Podio documentation set.
• Supports product readiness by ensuring documentation is updated alongside feature delivery.
• Improves findability and usability of documentation through ongoing structural refinements.
• Contributes to a reliable documentation workflow aligned with the Podio release cycle.
• Adopts evolving tools and practices that improve documentation efficiency and quality.
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
• Acts as a documentation subject-matter contributor for Podio content.
• Communicates clearly with Product and Engineering stakeholders to gather, validate, and refine information.
• Builds trust through accuracy, consistency, and reliable execution.
• Collaborates effectively with the Podio team to maintain shared understanding of documentation priorities.
• Shows adaptability in adopting new tools and workflows that support effective content development.
Your background:
• 2+ years of experience as an Information Developer, Technical Writer, or in a similar documentation-focused role.
• Experience creating and maintaining product or technical documentation.
• Experience working with AI tools or AI-supported workflows as part of day-to-day content work.
• Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to understand product functionality and translate it into clear, accurate, user-focused documentation.
• Experience working with Product and Engineering teams in a software development environment.
• Experience documenting software products in a software company is a plus.
