IT Security & Compliance Intern

This role provides hands-on exposure to governance, risk, and compliance activities within a real-world enterprise security environment. The intern will assist with security assessments, policy management, risk documentation, and compliance initiatives aligned with industry frameworks and regulatory requirements.
Please note this 6-month intern position offers flexible work hours once the university year starts and a hybrid work model (onsite and work from home). The Internship program will start on July 1st.

In this role, you will:
- Support compliance efforts (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI, HIPAA)
- Maintain security policies, standards, and procedures
- Support internal audits and evidence collection
- Track compliance artifacts in GRC tools or spreadsheets
- Support reporting and security metrics
- Support vendor reviews and evaluations
- Perform security and compliance research
- Assist with risk assessments and documentation
Your background:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Informatics, or a related field
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good understanding of fundamental cybersecurity concepts and tools
- Familiarity with operating systems, networking, cloud, and cybersecurity technologies
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, HIPAA)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn
