About ProbablyMonsters’ Battle Barge Team

THE ROLE: 

We are seeking a Level Designer for our Action-RPG. 

WHO YOU ARE: 
  • Someone with professional and/or demonstrable personal experience building levels in Unreal or another commercial level editor.
  • Curious and motivated to learn and grow as a level designer.
  • A collaborative individual who enjoys building with, and on, the work of others towards a shared vision.
  • Interested in evolving and updating the day-to-day processes, tools and workflows of the team.
  • A wearer of many hats, taking on new roles and types of work when needed.
WHAT YOU WILL DO: 
  • Work with established guidelines and design philosophies to build out and populate levels across the game from sketching, to blockout, to decoration and lighting, through to polish.
  • Create and update documentation on levels, processes, systems and gameplay.
  • Build and update level systems and tools as the project evolves.
  • Take direction from Leads and Directors and incorporate it into your work.
  • Help build a library of prefabs and interactable assets to assist in quick build-out of spaces.
  • Give feedback to, and receive it from, peers across the team.
  • Propose and develop new gameplay through pitches and demonstrative prototypes.
  • Explore and grow as a designer, taking learnings and integrating them into your work.
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  •  2 years of experience designing on a game title, or equivalent independent experience.
  • Experience ideating, designing and building levels in Unreal Engine 4/5.
  • Some demonstrable scripting proficiency (for example, Unreal Blueprints, C#, etc.).
  • Experience working within a team or larger organization.

Eligibility to participate in these benefits may vary for part-time and temporary full-time employees and interns with the Company. 
Compensation: 
  • This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt (salaried) position.
  • The full salary range for this position is $95,000 - $138,00 per year. The upper third of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. When an offer is made, many factors are considered, such as your unique experience and skills, where you live, where the work will be performed, what similar jobs pay, internal equity, and what you're looking for. 
  • In addition to base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for additional incentives, such as a sign-on bonus and short- and long-term incentives. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
