THE ROLE:

Our studio is looking for a Combat Engineer to create exciting and surprising AI encounters for our new Co-Op RPG. This individual’s focus will be to bring life to monster hordes, enemy formations, and friendly NPCs and create exciting combat encounters. As an engineer they will be collaborating with multiple disciplines to design, implement, and maintain systems and content ranging from behavior trees and navigation to spawning and abilities.

The salary range for this position is $117,300 - $176,000. This range represents the salary for the position commensurate with experience, knowledge, and demonstrated success in the field.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to help design and implement new NPC’s, Alien life and enemy encounters.
  • Implement new monsters using existing systems where possible and expand and create new systems when necessary.
  • Work iteratively to find the fun of new AI characters.
  • Help structure AI systems for more robust interactions and performance needs.
  • Implement and structure pragmatic, reliable shipping code.
  • You will be working on both client and server architecture in a UE4 C++ codebase.
  • Communicate risks and tradeoffs of different engineering approaches, architectures, possible solutions for impossible goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Professional experience with crafting AI in C++.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • UE4 experience is a plus
