Project Resources Group (PRG) is searching for a highly-skilled and motivated Wireless & Network Infrastructure Specialist to join our growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. This role will be critical in designing, implementing, and maintaining cutting-edge wireless and wired network solutions, supporting a wide range of devices and applications. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of modern networking standards, wireless technologies, and IoT ecosystems.
Responsibilities include program management and oversight of vendor deliverables:
  • Oversee the Design, installation, termination, and testing of low-voltage structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Fiber Optic, etc.) in various residential and commercial environments.
  • Deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of advanced wireless networks, including expertise in WiFi 7 and MU-MIMO access points.
  • Implement and manage network infrastructure components such as routers, switches (managed and unmanaged), and firewalls.
  • Configure and manage VLANs for network segmentation and traffic optimization.
  • Integrate and maintain various IoT devices and platforms, with a strong understanding of LoRaWAN technology and other IoT protocols.
  • Ensure optimal performance and compatibility across all IEEE 802.11 standards (a, b, g, n, ac, u) operating on 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands.
  • Experience with Power over Ethernet (PoE) for efficient device deployment and power management.
  • Conduct thorough RF, RSSI testing and site surveys to optimize wireless coverage, minimize interference, and ensure network reliability.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues using tools and protocols such as SNMP.
  • Configure and manage SSIDs, DPSKs, and other wireless security protocols to ensure secure and efficient network access.
  • Collaborate with ISP for connectivity requirements, troubleshooting, and service optimization.
  • Collaborate with vendors to procure equipment, manage relationships, and ensure timely delivery of necessary components.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, cabling infrastructure, QA/QC and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and vendors, translating complex technical information into understandable terms.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Our ideal candidate will possess:
  • Proven experience in low-voltage structured cabling installation, termination, and testing.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with WiFi 7, MU-MIMO access points, and related wireless technologies.
  • Strong understanding of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VLANs.
  • Experience with IoT device integration and familiarity with LoRaWAN, Matter, Zigbee, and Zwave.
  • Proficiency with IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/u standards and their operation across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Power over Ethernet (PoE) deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with RF testing tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with SNMP for network monitoring and management.
  • Experience configuring and managing SSIDs and DPSKs.
  • Experience working with ISPs for network connectivity and support.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and vendor management skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus Points If You Possess the Following:
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CWNA).
  • Experience with specific vendor equipment (e.g., Cisco Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus, Cambium, Ubiquiti).
  • Knowledge of network security best practices.
 
Our commitment to you…
  • $85,000 to $125,000 annually, depending on experience.
