Construction Coordinator- Apprentice
Do you like challenges? Want to grow in an ever-evolving field? Are you interested in working outdoors where you can gain outside plant experience as well as project management? This may be the apprenticeship for you. This 12-week apprenticeship will lay the foundation of the PRG Construction Project Management group that will afford you opportunities throughout the organization.
Job Summary
A successful Construction Coordinator Apprentice will:
- Learn standard construction methods and procedures to repair/replace/install NYC, Sewer, water, and Storm Drainage systems, as well as street and sidewalk reconstruction
- Acquiring knowledge of proper safety protocols used in the construction industry today
- Become familiar with reading and understanding Utility plates, blueprints and Field documents
- Gain an understanding of locating and identifying aerial and underground utility infrastructure
- Collaborate with NYC Agencies and officials and all the major utilities here in the city
- Learn how to produce and deliver daily reporting packages
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for learning the process for major utility infrastructure repair and installation as well as unique construction issues only found here in NYC
- Perform preconstruction surveys and live quality control with senior construction inspectors on a regular basis
- Attend official NYC project progress meetings
- Crosstrain in related areas as needed
- Administrative duties as needed
Work Environment
This hybrid requires work in the field and in the office. Field work includes walking sites, climbing stairs, and engaging directly with teams and clients. Travel will be required throughout NYC 5 Boroughs.
PRG offers the following perks and compensation:
- $25 per hour
- At the successful completion of the apprenticeship be elevated to a comparable rate of a Construction Coordinator
