Construction Coordinator (Relo)
We are seeking an experienced Construction Coordinator (Relo) to lead end-to-end relocation deployment operations for our regional fiber build initiative. This is a high-impact role responsible for orchestrating all aspects of a complex relocation project—from permitting and right-of-way acquisition through field coordination and project closeout. You'll be the quarterback between engineering, field operations, permitting authorities, and executive leadership—ensuring projects stay on schedule, on budget, and on spec across all jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
Permitting & Right-of-Way Management
- Research, prepare, and submit comprehensive permit applications, right-of-way agreements, easements, and land use documentation for major fiber build projects.
- Manage permit payments and compliance tracking across all jurisdictions with meticulous documentation and deadline management.
- Own the complete lifecycle of permitting activities from intake through approval and execution.
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules that align permitting, engineering, material procurement, and field execution.
- Identify critical path activities and coordinate dependencies across all workstreams.
- Forecast timelines and resource requirements; adjust schedules proactively to meet project milestones.
- Coordinate with engineering and design teams to ensure all requirements are incorporated into field execution plans.
Field Operations & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact with city and county permitting departments, planning offices, utility authorities, and contractors.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in your market.
- Coordinate with field teams on site requirements, access, traffic control, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide real-time communication and updates to project managers, field supervisors, and executive stakeholders.
- Manage contractor coordination, performance, and schedule adherence.
Project Records & Reporting
- Maintain organized, accessible project documentation that reflects real-time status and progress.
- Track budget, schedule, permits, and contractor performance metrics.
- Generate regular status reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Document as-builts, permit closeouts, and project completion deliverables.
Technical & Operational Proficiency
- Utilize ArcGIS, Google Workspace, and design software (AutoCAD, 3-GIS) to track projects, analyze data, and coordinate field activities.
- Read, understand, and interpret complex technical, engineering, and regulatory documentation.
- Manage project databases and systems; develop processes that improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.
- Occasionally handle field walk-throughs and site assessments to verify conditions and coordinate logistics.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Three (3) to five (5) years of hands-on construction coordination or project management experience in fiber optics or telecom infrastructure buildouts.
- Strong working knowledge of telecommunications network design, permitting requirements, and construction execution.
- Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and coordination tools; experience with ArcGIS and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs).
- Familiarity with design software, particularly AutoCAD and 3-GIS.
- Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and interpret technical, engineering, and regulatory documentation.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, you juggle multiple projects and competing priorities with precision.
- Strong leadership and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with contractors, government officials, and internal teams.
- Proactive problem-solver who identifies and mitigates risks before they impact the project.
- Detail-oriented and comfortable with data tracking, reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Comfortable with occasional overtime and field visits to meet critical project milestones.
Compensation & Benefits
- $35 to $38 per hour, depending on experience.
- Mileage reimbursement for vehicle use.
