JOB SUMMARY

Our full time Doula opening offers a chance to make a consistent impact with financial stability,  Health Benefits + PTO + 401K and more!  The Doula is responsible for the physical, emotional, and informational support of patients throughout the entire pregnancy journey. The Doula will assist patients in developing and meeting health and wellness goals in an effort to improve the overall pregnancy experience through advocacy, support, and timely coordinated care.  There is a better way to make a difference, join the future of healthcare today! 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Patient Experience:

  • Work as a team with doula partner to provide continuous, respectful, and patient centered care.
  • Serve as a resource for patient questions and concerns as they navigate through the pregnancy journey.
  • Provide HLP Orientation upon referral.
  • Meet with patients at regular intervals throughout the entire pregnancy journey (peri-natal and postpartum)
  • Serve as an advocate and facilitate communication amongst entire healthcare team.

Pregnancy Journey: 

  • Provide evidence-based education, training, resources, and support to help parents make informed choices concerning their pregnancy.
  • Facilitate the development of a birthing plan with the expectant mother/family with reasonable and appropriate expectations.
  • Ensure patients are progressing through their pregnancy journey, completing all schedule appointments.
  • Remain with patient throughout labor.
  • Provide practical support and advice after childbirth. 

On-call:

  • Provide continuous labor support until the patient delivers. 

Administration:

  • Collaborate with various teams to discuss patient progress.
  • Assist in the re-engagement of patients as needed.
  • Provide written documentation in the EHR as indicated.
  • Respond to patient needs and/or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification from a recognized doula accreditation organization (DONA, CAPPA, CBI, ICEA). All certifications will be reviewed.
  • Willingness to complete behavior change generalist training.
  • Advanced doula credentialing is preferred.
  • Advanced experience in providing comprehensive care (childbirth and pre-, peri, and post-natal care) preferred.
  • Certified Lactation Consultant

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a doula having attended/participated in a minimum of 50 births.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, flexibility with scheduling, and a high level of professionalism and maturity
  • Experience in health promotion and/or work site wellness
  • Experience using MS Excel, Access, and Visio and other Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
