Premise offers a wide range of dynamic, purpose-driven career opportunities. We are currently looking for a Zumba Class Instructor to join our team in Hartford, CT.  

About the role: We are currently hiring class instructors to teach a variety of specialties as such as Zumba, Cycling, Pilates, Barre, HIIT, Bootcamp, Circuit and Station training, etc. Our ideal candidate will be engaging, energetic and have a passion for health and wellness!   

  • Average class size is 8-15 adult members. Will teach at least 2-3 mid-day weekly classes.
  • Classes are 45 minutes to 1 hour, can be held between 11am-1pm. 
  • There is also opportunity to sign up as a substitute Instructor at this Fitness Center. 
  • Fitness Center hours are Monday & Friday 6am-2pm, and Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday 6am-6pm. 

Essential Functions:  

  • Provide group exercise class instruction to our corporate fitness center participants
  • Design and deliver routines for members of all ability levels and provide multi-level modifications.
  • Provide a memorable experience and excellent customer service to our class participants
  • Create a safe exercise environment for all class participants by adhering to the site specific safety and injury prevention procedures.
  • Complete assigned annual compliance trainings.
  • May require other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:  

  • Group Exercise Primary certification from nationally recognized organization (e.g. AFFA, ACE, IDEA)
  • Specialty certifications as determined by class format.
  • Yoga instructors must have at least participated in a 200 hour certification
  • Current hands on certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for community/lay responder is required
  • First Aid Certification. Certification must include “hands on” evaluation of skills by the trainer/instructor.

Preferred Experience:  

  • 1-3 years of experience instructing group exercise classes
  • Experience in the corporate fitness setting preferred
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Engaging demeanor
  • Effective teaching skills
  • Comfortable speaking in group settings
