We’re looking for a talented and innovative Corporate Controller and Vice President, Finance to join our team!

As the Corporate Controller and VP Finance, you’ll have the opportunity to be make a significant strategic impact on a dynamic, mid-sized organization, acting as a driven change-manager, responsible for Financial Controls, External Reporting and Compliance of the group-wide organization and managing the corporate organic expansion and acquisition integration processes.  

You’ll be accountable for:

  • The financial operations and associated risk management of the company, including the development of a financial strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems, including preparedness for Sarbanes-Oxley, designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results
  • Providing leadership, management, development and coaching of our highly motivated Finance team globally, including Accounting, Tax, Global Accounts Payable and Treasury functions
  • Exhibiting leadership in the organization of Premier Research’s values and accountability 

This includes:

  • Ensuring timely and accurate preparation and analysis of all financial and related results
  • Partnering and advising on strategic financial decision-making through business insights to enhance business performance; serving as strategic executive resource to leaders across Premier Research
  • Assisting CFO to develop and achieve KPIs focused on key business drivers and initiatives
  • Creating, motivating, developing and retaining a high quality team
  • Establishing a tone, tempo and culture that promotes not only high performance, accountability and results, but aspiration, caring and empathy, and empowerment with a “one team” approach; Inspiring, supporting and leading financial personnel to effectively achieve objectives and navigate challenges
  • Providing performance feedback, mentoring and coaching to team members on-going and during performance appraisals (including developed and measurable goals)
  • Understanding and mitigating key elements of the Premier Research’s financial risk profile
  • Constructing and monitoring reliable control systems
  • Personally reviewing and approving all corporate statutory account filings
  • Ensuring that Premier Research complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
  • Identifying, assessing and reporting risk issues to the CFO with a solutions-based approach
  • Maintaining relations with external auditors and managing the financial audit process
  • Monitoring cash balances and forecasts; arranging for debt and equity financing; maintaining banking relationships; representing the company with investment bankers and investors
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining financial and tax strategies and compliance
  • US GAAP compliance, planning and adoption; Sarbanes-Oxley 

You’ll need this to be considered: 

  • Undergraduate degree or international equivalent from an accredited institution is required, preferably in financial, business or scientific related field; MBA is an advantage
  • CPA professional accounting qualification is essential
  • Fifteen (15) years progressive financial management experience along with 10 years leadership
  • Mid-to-large company experience, with global business operations originating out of US
  • Business expansion experience, managing mergers/acquisitions and organic growth
  • ASC 606 experience within a CRO environment is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in pricing and partnership business models; M&A and business integrations
  • Development and implementation of Finance and Tax strategy
  • Expert in US Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (GAAP) and knowledge of IFRS
  • Knowledge of US Tax, Corporate Tax planning and US & international tax compliance
  • Proficiency with systems, workflow analysis, process improvements and metrics
  • Demonstrable management experience to inspire a team in a dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational planning, prioritization, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership, skills with an ability to partner with an innovative leadership team; Communicate and negotiate in a strategic, effective and relatable manner with internal and external constituents of various levels and diverse backgrounds, working sensitively with different cultures
  • Analytical capabilities, including the ability to think critically and strategically and to propose and implement change
  • Strong influencing skills on all levels, motivating and inspiring a high performance team, maintaining a positive and results-driven work environment; ability to influence without authority
