As the Senior Project Finance Analyst, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your expertise to provide financial support, analysis and reporting to deliver on financial targets for assigned projects and drive corrective actions to improve financial performance where required. This requires the Senior Project Finance Analyst to have strong influencing skills and gravitas to advise the Project Team about the financial success of the project. This job role needs to be embedded as a key part of the project team to develop the trust and credibility in the advice and support that they give the Project Team in order to deliver improved or meet financial targets. The ability to challenge in a constructive manner to bring about results and change is critical.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Senior Project Finance Analyst:

  • Ensures that the key metrics and reports are provided to the project team to deliver the level of financial performance required for the project
  • Is responsible for providing advice for correct actions to improve performance.
  • Drives the financial performance of the project through accurate reporting and strong influencing skills with the project team
  • Takes the initiative to challenge the operation team that lead to decisions that will result in improved financial project performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

For the Financial success of the project:

  • Assists Project Managers and operational project team members with understanding project profitability and supports initiatives to drive improved margins including change order development, resourcing and timelines.
  • Challenges operational teams on decisions that will result in margin erosion or delay and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Ensures monthly reporting of revenue accurately reflects current status of project and highlights/explains variances from forecasts.
  • Forecasts monthly backlog for assigned projects and reviews in conjunction with resourcing forecasts to ensure projects are tracking according to budget expectations
  • Assists in communication of budget guidelines to operational team members so that clarity in scope is understood.
  • Actively assists in the management of customer requirements and expectations taking ownership of the client’s financial expectations.
  • Integral project team member actively participating in project team meetings
  • Reviews contract payment schedules and monitors cash flow over life of project.
  • Provide support to other project analysts
  • All other tasks as assigned
