The Manager, Project Finance Systems provides oversight and management for all activities associated with Project Finance Systems such as IPM (Integrated Project Management), Cost Point, and other systems as required. This role works closely with senior leaders, stakeholders, operations, project finance and IT to meet the needs of the business.  This position requires an understanding of business principles related to developing, enhancing, and managing project finance processes. Additional responsibilities include effectively managing personnel. Collaborating with other functional groups, and being an active influencer and participant in the implementation of new policies and systems.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Provides overall governance and maintenance management of project finance systems
  • Supervises project finance systems support staff, including, but not limited to, performance management (quality, quantity, and timeliness of work performed), and guidance on corporate policy, training and support
  • Provides directives on daily IPM maintenance by offering continuous support and suggested process improvements
  • Proactively manages and maintains consistency and accuracy of data in systems
  • Manages volume and workload related to the IPM service desk tickets
  • Bridges specific system knowledge with overall key operational and financial understanding to ensure system configuration and design provides efficient and accurate results to management and end users
  • Provides continuous updates and systems improvements as dictated by business needs
  • Manage improvements of templates and data translation from the pricing tool
  • Develop tools and solutions to ensure continuous improvement to project finance processes
  • Understand business requirements to develop report specifications for CER report writers, including identifying where the data is located
  • Liaise with IT with the development and improvement and efficient use of the IPM system
  • Provide training and support to end users by hosting training sessions and developing documentation
  • Provides continuous performance feedback and meet with employees regularly to throughout the year
  • Other activities as designated

 

You’ll need this background to be considered:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or international equivalent from an accredited institution, in accounting or finance
  • 5+ years general work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a service organization
  • 1-2 years direct experience in the Clinical Research industry
  • 1+ years of supervisory/management experience
  • Knowledge of project financial systems preferred
  • Strong expertise in creating and analyzing reports in Microsoft Excel
  • Capable of handling and intelligently analyzing large volumes of different types of data and data evaluation metrics
  • Expert Excel experience including shortcuts, advanced formulas, functions and macros
  • Demonstrated history of managing time and project requirements
  • Knowledge of web based communication tools for conferences
  • Ability to supervise projects and project teams and manage available resources
  • Solid analytical aptitude and organizational skills, high attention to detail and the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated skills in clear communication and effective presentation skills
