Position at Sunset View and Amador Cemeteries

Family Service Advisor - Cemetery Sales Representative

Grow Your Career with Purpose and Heart

Your experience in guiding clients through sensitive conversations, your attention to detail, and your ability to navigate financial planning make you uniquely qualified to make an impact in your community.

At Sunset View and Daneri, you won’t just sell a policy—you’ll help families find peace of mind, provide personalized guidance, and support them through a process that truly matters!

Serve with Compassion, Lead with Confidence

As a Family Service Advisor, you’ll build a meaningful career helping families plan ahead with care, clarity, and confidence. In this trusted role, you’ll guide families through important decisions, offering compassionate support and the opportunity to grow your income and professional development.

You’ll enjoy:

  • Financial Security with Growth: Base pay plus competitive commissions. Training pay to support your start and licensure reimbursement!

  • Generous Benefits to Help You Thrive: A package that includes medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage. You’ll also receive paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays!

  • Plan for the Future: 401(k) and company match, plus company-paid life insurance, and short- and long-term disability coverage—gives you peace of mind as you build a meaningful career.

What You’ll Do:

This is not a desk job—you’ll spend part of your time walking the cemetery grounds, discussing memorialization options, attending at-need services, and ensuring every detail is handled with precision and empathy.

You’ll demonstrate a genuine interest in serving families as you present goods and services that meet their real needs. This allows you to maximize your commissions on quality sales without the pressure of upselling or manipulation.

Your natural ability to balance sensitivity with action will be key to your success as you:

  • Guide families who just experienced loss through their options in cemetery and permanent memorialization
  • Service families who have previously prearranged to help them see the value in their arrangements
  • Attend graveside services that are unique to each family, providing support during placement of loved ones
  • Offer pre-arranged funeral contracts, cemetery property, and related merchandise that meet each family’s needs
  • Provide in-person support both in the office and outdoors on the cemetery grounds (a portion of your week will be active and physical)
  • Set appointments, conduct presentations, and guide families with tact, diplomacy, and attentiveness
  • Walk the grounds with families to discuss memorialization options and ensure they feel supported in every step
  • Develop new contacts through community outreach, events, and follow-up
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements—attention to detail is a must!
  • Collaborate with your team and management to meet goals and support families with exceptional care

What You Bring:

People who thrive in this role are proactive, personable, and able to lead families with care. Those who struggle are often too reserved or hesitant to engage in meaningful conversations during emotional moments.

  • Engaging, confident presence—you know when to step in and guide a conversation, and when to simply listen
  • Strong sense of tact, empathy, and professionalism with the ability to adapt in emotionally sensitive situations
  • Experience in sales, financial advising, or customer service where attention to paperwork and regulations are required is a plus!
  • Comfort with physical activity—walking cemetery grounds and working with clients in both indoor and outdoor locations
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for appointments and events
  • An insurance license or the ability to obtain an insurance license required
