CCTV Specialist

Role Description:
The CCTV Specialist is responsible for ensuring the continuous, secure, and efficient operation of all surveillance systems across the organization. This role involves overseeing the installation, maintenance, configuration, and monitoring of CCTV equipment and related software to guarantee optimal performance, reliability, and data integrity. Acting as a key point of contact for technical and operational matters, the CCTV Specialist supports both day-to-day functionality and long-term system improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all CCTV cameras and systems are fully operational, maintained, and properly monitored.
- Coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders to address any issues promptly and effectively.
- Manage the operations control room, ensuring all technical equipment is properly maintained.
- Perform daily checks on camera status, ensuring they are clean, operational, and recording data correctly.
- Ensure all cameras are connected to the system and properly identified within the application used (AXIS Camera Station, Milestone, Hikvision, or other VMS applications).
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise with CCTV cameras and systems.
- Implement required modifications and updates as necessary.
- Install, secure, and administer Milestone, AXIS Camera Station, or other VMS applications.
- Monitor and repair CCTV applications and related services.
- Perform routine CCTV maintenance services according to the preventive maintenance master plan.
- Train CCTV operators on system functionality and provide manuals and procedures when needed.
- Proactively monitor the performance, quality, and reliability of CCTV services.
- Coordinate with the Network and Storage team to ensure all connections and data security measures are regularly checked.
- Install client desktops and ensure the CCTV client software functions properly.
- Ensure 24/7 emergency response readiness for CCTV failures.
- Process CCTV Work Requests and be available for emergency off-hours work.
Requirements:
- Electrical or Instrumentation/Control System Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of CCTV systems and relevant software.
- Experience with complete installation and configuration of CCTV systems.
- Expertise in CCTV troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Experience with Windows Server and Linux.
- Experience with Milestone or other VMS applications preferred.
- Knowledge of storage systems (SAN, NAS, DAS) preferred.
- Working knowledge of LAN administration tasks (user management, backups).
- Experience with hardware servers and storage (HP, Dell, EMC, Blade) preferred.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking principles.
