ABOUT THE ROLE
The Employee Relations Specialist provides expert guidance to managers and HR stakeholders on complex employee relations matters. The role focuses on advising, coaching, and supporting leaders in navigating sensitive workplace situations, ensuring decisions are fair, consistent, and compliant with labor legislation and company policies. The Employee Relations Partner acts as a trusted advisor in employee relations matters, helping management address challenges related to conduct, performance, conflicts, and workplace dynamics while minimizing legal and organizational risk.

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and HR partners on employee relations matters, including disciplinary issues, grievances, workplace conflicts, and performance concerns.
  • Guide managers through complex employee situations by helping assess risks, determine appropriate actions, and ensure fair, consistent, and compliant decision-making.
  • Support leaders in preparing for sensitive employee conversations, disciplinary meetings, and conflict resolution discussions.
  • Lead and manage Employee Relations matters within the organisation
  • Provide expert guidance on handling employee relations matters in line with labor legislation, internal policies, and best practices, while advising stakeholders on potential legal and reputational risks.
  • Collaborate with Legal and HR leadership on complex or high-risk employee relations situations.
  • Support managers in resolving workplace conflicts through mediation, facilitated discussions, and structured problem-solving approaches to prevent escalation of issues.
  • Coach managers on effective people management practices, including handling difficult conversations, addressing misconduct or performance concerns, and maintaining workplace fairness.
  • Strengthen manager capability in managing employee relations situations confidently and appropriately through ongoing guidance and support.
  • Identify recurring employee relations themes and recommend improvements to processes, policies, or management practices.
  • Support HR initiatives aimed at strengthening a fair, compliant, and respectful workplace culture.

 

WHAT WE ASK OF YOU

  • 5+ years in Employee Relations, HR Generalist, HR Business Partnering, or a similar HR role
  • Strong knowledge of local labor legislation and disciplinary frameworks.
  • Experience supporting managers in handling complex employee relations matters.
  • Ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills. · Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong judgment and risk awareness
  • Conflict resolution and mediation skills ·
