We are looking for a highly experienced and visionary Director of Mathematics to join our leadership team and help drive the future of game design through mathematical excellence.
The Director of Mathematics will lead a team of mathematicians responsible for designing and analysing the core math models that power our slot and casino games. This role is critical in ensuring our games are mathematically sound, regulatory compliant, innovative, and commercially successful. You will collaborate closely with the executive leadership to bring engaging and profitable games to market.

We are looking for a highly experienced and visionary Director of Mathematics to join our leadership team and help drive the future of game design through mathematical excellence.
The Director of Mathematics will lead a team of mathematicians responsible for designing and analysing the core math models that power our slot and casino games. This role is critical in ensuring our games are mathematically sound, regulatory compliant, innovative, and commercially successful. You will collaborate closely with the executive leadership to bring engaging and profitable games to market.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the mathematical strategy for game design across all game platforms (land-based, online, social).
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of game mathematicians and analysts.
- Champion innovation in math modelling, player engagement strategies, and game mechanics.
Stakeholder & Project Management
- Act as the primary ‘bridge’ between Senior Management and the game maths teams.
- Ensure that project plans are being followed and feedback loops are closed in a timely manner.
- Communicate Senior Management feedback to the maths teams and ensure that feedback is accurately incorporated.
Math Design & Development
- Oversee the development of game math models including base games, bonus features, progressive jackpots, and RTP configurations.
- Ensure game math meets legal, regulatory, and jurisdictional compliance requirements globally.
- Partner with design and product teams to prototype and iterate on new game concepts.
Analytics & Optimization
- Analyse game performance post-launch and suggest improvements or new versions based on data.
- Use player behaviour data and simulations to inform design decisions and optimize game engagement.
Innovation & Research
- Stay current with emerging trends in slot mechanics, probability theory, and player psychology.
- Explore new paradigms in game math such as volatility shaping, dynamic RTP, and AI-assisted tuning.
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
- Leadership & management: You are a strong leader with experience in managing sizable teams and are able to hire, coach and inspire diverse teams.
- In depth understanding of game mathematics: You have extensive experience in slots maths development and a deep understanding of mathematics, probability, combinatorics, random number generation and pay-out structures. You have a proven track record of delivering successful, high performing games to market.
- Strong project management skills & attention to detail: You are meticulous, organized and have an eye for detail. You are excellent in time & stakeholder management and can fully execute on ambitious project plans.
- Strong communication skills: This role requires you to lead a diverse team and work with various people from multiple backgrounds across the company. You are a good communicator, able to concisely convey key points, make compelling arguments and convince others.
- Working to the highest standards, even under pressure: You’re ambitious, hold yourself to high standards and thrive in a dynamic, high-energy environment.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or related field. PhD a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in slot game math development, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or senior role.
- Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel.
- Proven track record of delivering successful, high-performing games to market.
- Deep understanding of probability, combinatorics, random number generation, and pay-out structures.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in major gaming jurisdictions (e.g., Malta, UKGC).
- Experience working with both land-based and/or digital gaming platforms.
- Understanding of player psychology and behavioural economics in game design.
