Position Title: Account Relationship Manager

Location: Remote

Reports To:  Director, Regional Sales

 

POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

 

This position is a dynamic link between PPG’s customers and our value proposition.  Our customers are residential plumbers and facilities who require plumbing products and MRO supplies to complete their plumbing projects.  This role interacts directly with our customers to provide industry leading products and services designed to help our customers grow profitably and make their jobs easier.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Grow revenue to monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
  • Implementation of new products and solutions to both new and existing customers
  • Provide product training and ensure seamless adoption of solutions
  • Deliver a high-quality Customer Experience and increase Share of Wallet with PPG
  • Perform ongoing maintenance of inventory management solutions for clients
  • Deepen our customer relationships and ensure a tight relationship with PPG
  • Partner in an omni channel team sales environment that leverages inside sales, customers service and eCommerce to drive growth and customer contact productivity
  • Consistently maintain account and customer contact information and follow up details in PPG’s CRM

CRITICAL OUTCOMES

 

  • Increase PPG’s NPS (Net Promoter Score) through highly consultative interactions with clients in assigned geographic territory
  • Achieve revenue growth through client adoption of PPG products and services
  • Actively represent the voice of the customer to our Customer Experience and Operations teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

 

  • 3-5 years of strategic account management experience
  • Understand buying decisions, buying processes and cash flow dynamics of aligned customers
  • Understand and use basic selling techniques: open, probe, presentation, over-coming objections and the fundamentals of CRM and account management
  • Knows how to leverage CRM to execute account plans, manage a sales pipeline from opportunity to close and to leverage an omni channel sales and service model
  • Identify opportunities, negotiate and manage sales; manage business needs and cost requirements
  • Effectively use quantitative skills to report accurate information on overall results of customer interactions
  • Work in a customer-centric organization with flexibility to adjust daily priorities
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills in assigned geographic territory
  • Technology oriented and able to leverage eCommerce and other technology-based platforms for customer benefit
  • Experience working with small to medium sized businesses in the construction industry highly preferred

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma, two to four-year degree preferred

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • A valid driver’s license
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to travel and have occasional overnights (depending on territory)
