Operations/Continuous Improvement Director

We are looking for an operations leader who is skilled at developing long-term strategies to manage the day to day operations of our busy distribution center in Glen Mills, PA and have oversight of our Conway, SC facility as well.

The Operations/Continuous Improvement Director will have a critical role in driving an efficient and effective LEAN process and sites. This will include using structured CI tools and methodologies to analyze processes and data, determine and implement corrective actions and coach/lead the salaried and hourly workforces.  This role requires relationship building, partnering and interactions across the entire organization to ensure an efficient operation and customer satisfaction.



  • Lead overall operations in the DCs– Shipping, receiving, pick/pack, inventory management, as well as assembly and plating in SC, etc.
  • Create and implement key SOP’s, KPI’s, LEAN processes and practices
  • Drive Continuous Improvement culture and engrain CI behaviors and practices, using six sigma, root cause analysis, 5S, 5 Why, Gemba boards/ walks, etc.
  • Partner with Quality, Materials, Engineering, Sales, Customer Service teams to identify  trends and systemic issues to ensure accurate root-cause analysis. Develop action plans to drive measurable improvement
  • Conduct and support problem investigations using CAPA processes and RCCA tools and methodologies
  • Generate, review and approve ISIR / PPAP documentation as needed
  • Provide overall Leadership and engagement of the workforce, including workforce planning, training, team development, communication
  • Manage execution of productivity metrics, process improvements, waste reduction and projects
  • Lead and develop salary and hourly teams


  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business management, engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of operations experience, including at least 3-5 years in a supervisory/manager capacity
  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience implementing TPS/Lean process methods and tools, across multiple functions of the business in manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Strategic focus
  • Critical thinking skills to develop solutions to complex challenges
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Strong knowledge of structured problem-solving tools for determining root cause/corrective actions, conducting Kaizen events, etc.
  • Demonstrated success using concepts, practices, i.e. value stream mapping, fishbone diagrams, SMED, Poka-Yoke, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word), MS Project, and Internet applications
  • Process oriented and reliance on data-driven solutions
  • Collaborative, team oriented and adept at building positive and influential relationships and teaching others
