The Director, Quality reports directly to the Vice President, Operations and leads a team of 5 quality professionals located in both Conway and Glen Mills.


The Director, Quality will be responsible for setting quality standards and processes to exceed customer expectations for product, delivery and service.  The position is responsible for manufacturing operations, warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics/transportation.

Specific duties will include, but are not necessarily limited to:

Quality Leader

  • Leads the quality management system for PPG
  • Builds a high functioning support team to support Engineering, Sourcing and Operations
  • Business partner and thought leader for all functions regarding Quality

Customer Experience

  • Controls quality of inputs and outputs to reliably achieve delivery standards
  • Delights the customer with high-quality
  • Generates high-quality data to drive decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Leverages Voice of the Customer (VOC) to set PPG standards

Operational Controls

  • Develops SOPs and other process tools to set procedural standards
  • Builds database of specifications and measurements to demonstrate quality


  • 7+ years of quality management and operations experience, particularly in manufacturing & distribution organizations.
  • Experience in a world class Quality company or consulting firm, preferably in Lean manufacturing/operational environments.
  • Experience with establishing and measuring product specifications in new product or redesigned product stages to meet certification and/or industry standards.
  • Preferred experience in pick-n-pack distribution or high-volume shipping.
  • Proven track record of managing quality inspectors to perform processes
  • Capability to collaborate and persuade cross-functional partners (Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Shipping) to establish best practices and
  • Hands-on approach with strong continuous improvement orientation with processes and controls.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the
  • College degree required; engineering or applied sciences degree preferred.
