POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Warehouse Associate performs an array of duties required to prepare and process material for shipment.  This includes receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock and other functions associated with the receiving and replenishment processes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive, process, label, and store incoming stock.
  • Perform required functions to complete the receiving process, including unloading trucks, processing documents, creating receipts, etc.
  • Inspect all stock for damages and keeping records of damages.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the inventory control system, including stock locations, etc.
  • Perform cycle counts as required.
  • Responsible for the movement of materials into and out of the bulk storage areas.
  • Complete the receiving and storage in a manner that prevents damage to material and/or equipment
  • Preparing orders for shipment.
  • Responsible for selecting, packing, and shipping orders per picklist including transaction data entry.
  • Utilize order pick list or other inventory transaction forms to obtain materials required for the job from storage as needed or to replenish materials utilized in their area.
  • Accurate weigh counting, hand counting, picking, and delivering of materials as required on pick lists
  • Recognize obvious irregularities in process or function including defects in parts, inventory quantity, location, and documentation (such as, inaccurate address, wrong part number, etc.) and make necessary corrections. Notify Supervisor of these or any other recurring operating problems.
  • Prepare and package products for safe shipping and/or storage.
  • Prepare Bills of Lading or other shipping documents as required or instructed.
  • Performs business system (AX) transactions as appropriate
  • Keep warehouse and assigned work area clean and organized daily.
  • Identify and/or support continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate concerns or issues with a supervisor.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • The work environment is general warehouse conditions.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Adequate knowledge of warehouse data systems.
  • Ability to use all electronic and manual scales.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Window-based operations as it relates to inventory control and shipping functions and performs basic clerical tasks associated with these functions.
  • Ability to operate Warehouse and Shipping equipment such as a hand truck and/or pallet jack, and other equipment (stretch-wrap, label printer, etc), with appropriate training.

 EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • A vocational, trade, or high school diploma/GED certificate required.
  • 1+ years of related experience in a warehouse or distribution environment preferred.
  • Forklift experience a plus

 

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Must understand software such as, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
