We are seeking a results-driven Continuous Improvement Engineer to support Engineering, Operations and Quality Assurance with a focus on Quality processes and Continuous Improvement at our Glen Mills, PA distribution center.




The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance to PPG’s policies/procedures, as well as driving Continuous Improvement to the quality of our operational processes and outputs.  This will include using structured CI tools, analyzing processes and data, determining corrective actions to ensure customer satisfactionThis role requires internal/external customer relationship building, partnering and interaction across departments



  • Drive a Continuous Improvement culture and engrain associated behaviors in the organization
  • Implementation of key SOP’s
  • Support roll-out, training and communication of process improvement
  • Lead improvement projects within the organization
  • Implementation of KPI’s and review process



  • Support the creation or modification of SOP’s and templates to meet quality requirements to assure processes include documented records and feedback systems
  •  Monitor, track and report performance for continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Quality team to identify adverse trends and systemic issues to ensure accurate root-cause analysis. Develop actions to drive measurable improvement.
  • Conduct and support problem investigations using CAPA processes and RCCA tools and methodologies.
  • Utilize advanced Continuous Improvement methodologies in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, & Root Cause Analysis, along with basic tools, such as, 5 Why analysis, 5S, etc.
  • Develop Continuous Improvement toolkit and operating fundamentals.
  • Reduce waste and drive best practices across the organization.
  • Focus on field quality and analyze field returns to determine root cause to drive improvement.
  • Support the generation of, review and approval of ISIR / PPAP documentation as needed.
  • Support training and department team development as requested by department leadership.
  • Effectively correspond with all levels of management and between departments within the organization.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all members of the Company.
  • Develop & Prepare key reports as required for performance analysis.
  • Other duties as needed.


  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001.
  • Strong knowledge of structured problem-solving tools for determining root cause/corrective actions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with associates/management.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures such as 5S, LEAN, Six Sigma.
  • Ability to teach others
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word), MS Project, and Internet applications

  • College degree in engineering or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience using Lean process methods and tools, across multiple functions of the business in manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification experience preferred.
  • 2+ years participating in Continuous Improvement projects
