We are seeking a results-driven Manager of Continuous Improvement  to partner with Operations, Engineering and Quality Assurance to build and further our Continuous Improvement culture in our Glen Mills, PA distribution center.

 

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

 The Manager of Continuous Improvement is responsible for ensuring compliance to PPG’s policies/procedures, as well as driving Continuous Improvement to the quality of our operational processes and outputs.  This will include using structured CI tools, analyzing processes and data, determining corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction.  This role requires relationship building, partnering and interaction across most departments. 

 

CRITICAL MISSION

  • Drive 5S, Continuous Improvement culture and engrain CI into behaviors and practices
  • Create and Implement key SOP’s
  • Manage roll-out, training and communication of process improvements and projects
  • Lead improvement projects within the organization
  • Implement KPI’s and review process and cadence
  • Monitor, track and report performance for continuous improvement
  • Partner with Quality team to identify adverse trends and systemic issues to ensure accurate root-cause analysis. Develop action plans to drive measurable improvement.
  • Conduct and support problem investigations using CAPA processes and RCCA tools and methodologies
  • Utilize advanced Continuous Improvement methodologies in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, etc along with basic tools, such as 5 Why analysis, 5S, etc.
  • Develop Continuous Improvement toolkit and operating fundamentals
  • Reduce waste and drive best practices across the organization
  • Lead the generation, review and approval of ISIR / PPAP documentation as needed
  • Lead training and department team development

 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, or related field
  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience implementing TPS/Lean process methods and tools, across multiple functions of the business in manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Critical thinking skills to develop solutions to complex challenges
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple Kaizen events
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Strong knowledge of structured problem-solving tools for determining root cause/corrective actions
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, i.e. value stream mapping, fishbone diagrams, SMED, Poka-Yoke, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word), MS Project, and Internet applications
  • Process oriented and reliance on data-driven solutions
  • Collaborative, team oriented and adept at building positive and influential relationships and teaching others
