  • Schedules and coordinates products through the complete production cycle 
  • Evaluates and analyzes data regarding processes and systems  
  • Resolves problems with inventory, production schedules or materials shortages and recommends procedures to avoid future problems. 
  • Establishes a balance between vendors and internal and external customers based on supply and demand for materials and finished goods.  
  • Forecasts requirements   
  • Issues periodic reports on trends   


  • Communicate and coordinate with factory manufacturers to ensure continuous supply of product, meeting quality and delivery standards  
  • Resolve any vendor line stopping issues  
  • Set up inventory goals and monitor, with input from appropriate stakeholders 
  • Develop action plans and counter measures with planner / buyers, development and factory teams for inventory control  
  • Support purchasing team in financial objectives (PPV)  
  • Participate and initiate continuous improvement   
  • Depending upon level in job family, participates in coordinates or supervises the integration of new product introductions from engineering design to factory 
  •   May coordinate and supervise the integration of new production cells from one location to other   
  •   Establish and maintain standard work and/or consistent training in the materials team  

Internal Relationships:   

  •   Reports to the Purchasing Manager   
  •   Interacts with various factory associates (Assemblers, Buyer/Planner, Master Scheduler, Engineers, and Production Manager)   
  •   Interacts with procurement   
  •   May occasionally provide reports to Executive Management team   

External Relationships:  

Interacts with suppliers  


  •   Improvement in inventory turns   
  •   Inventory reduction   
  •   Supplier on time delivery  



  •  Education - Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, Engineering or a related field or commensurate experience (5+ years)  
  •  Experience – 1-3 years in a related field is preferred.    
  •  Functional Training - Demonstration of continuing education in purchasing/planning, and supply chain. Understands lean concepts. Experience with Kanban preferred.
