Position Title: FP&A Senior Analyst

Location: Glen Mills, Pennsylvania

Reports To: FP&A Manager

POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The FP&A Senior Analyst will enable PPG’s strategy by developing world-class reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and data analytics. This role will be expected to partner with the FP&A Manager to build and lead analytics, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting. Real success will come when those functions are simplified, allowing focus on becoming an analytical problem solver and business partner for all functions of the business. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of curiosity, a track record of learning quickly, strong relationship building skills, an eye for process improvement, and a desire to provide actionable business insights.

Responsibilities and Outcomes

  • Develop simple, reliable monthly financial forecast process
  • Contribute to a detailed annual budgeting process and long-range operating plans
  • Prepare monthly management reports and provide meaningful variance analysis of actuals vs. forecast
  • Improve value and accuracy of reports, partner with business leaders to understand activity
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and improve existing processes and output quality
  • Understand profitability levers, cost drivers, and existing KPIs while uncovering additional insights
  • Leverage PowerBI and CRM to empower sales and marketing with commercial insights to drive strategy
  • Build strong relationships with all functions of the business
  • Automate current processes and procedures to improve efficiency across the finance team and organization
  • High level of service and collaboration with private-equity owner

 

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Math, Business Administration or related quantitative field
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, consulting or accounting
  • Experience in a private equity backed company; manufacturing, industrial business or distribution business preferred
  • Experience advising the business using financial analytics
  • Demonstrated experience is P&L analysis, cash flow forecasting, capital planning, month-end close process, accruals, and inventory analysis

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  •        Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership
  •        Strong knowledge of financial accounting concepts and financial statement analysis
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented individual that can work in an evolving organization and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Strong mastery of financial statement modeling
  • Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance people (e.g., cost vs. capital)
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar accounting platform is required.
  • Expert-level Microsoft Excel modeling skills
  • Experience with Data Visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, Domo, PowerBI, Sisense, etc.)
  • Experience with SQL or python preferred but not required
