Compliance Manager

The Compliance and Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager oversees regulatory compliance: from a product, EHS, and company-wide perspective, engages with industry regulators and manages PPG’s overall safety program. In addition, the manager will engage with industry trade groups while assuring products across the multiple PPG product lines are compliant with the latest regulations. The Compliance & EHS Manager seeks out the latest ideas, processes and technologies to efficiently and effectively oversee the department. The Compliance & EHS Manager contributes to the success of PPG’s product lines assuring full compliance of products and environmental and safety organization.  


· Manage compliance program that drives XC Experience through various aspects of operations with Process Documents, Discipline to Process and Fulfilment Accuracy 

· Coordinate and oversee periodic applications or inspections from each of the regulatory bodies at the local, state and federal level. 

· Maintain ongoing compliance review processes, updating policies and procedures as needed to reflect industry best practices 

· Prepare and submit compliance documentations for customer as requested  

· Manage and maintain regulatory product listing certifications 

· Implement and promote policies and procedures as new compliance initiatives, compliance environment and business evolve. 

· Engage with Industry Trade Groups PPG is affiliated with, including but not limited to PMI and ISEA 

· Maintain required certifications, licensing and training to achieve professional competency as appropriate for the position 

· Manage and coordinate PPG’s permits adhering to all necessary requirements including necessary reporting, documentation, inspection certifications, sampling requirements and other as required for SC facility. 

· Inspect, evaluate and maintain the environment, equipment, and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards. 

· Ensure that appropriate regulatory policies, procedures and controls are established, maintained and well-documented 

· Update and maintain PPG’s contingency plan Perform Duties of Emergency Coordinator in the event the contingency plan must be implemented, and the Primary coordinator is not available. 

· Coordinate plating and wastewater treatment activities 

· Manage PPG’s hazardous waste program according to EPA’s Resource Conservation and Recovery Act 

· Complete all necessary reports concerning Hazardous Waste activities as required by RCRA including weekly inspections, manifesting, quarterly reports and waste minimization reports in the event the primary coordinator is not available. 

· Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to PPGs health management program 

· Evaluating practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to health and safety regulations and PPG Policies. 

· Ensure all employees are up to date on training required by federal, state, and local governmental bodies 

· Develop and deliver training and communications on compliance policies and procedures to ensure proper understanding across the organization of regulatory related risks and responsibilities 

· Maintain and submit operating budget for compliance program. 

· Other duties as assigned. 



· Approve all expenditures within the confines of the departmental operating and capital expense budgets. 



· The Compliance and EHS Manager reports to the VP of Engineering & Sourcing. 

· Close interactions: Marketing, Sales, Customer Care, Operations/Manufacturing, New Product Development, Finance, Executive leadership, and Administration Services. 

· External interactions: Code and Standards personnel, customers and outside design/engineering services.

· Bachelor of Science in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or other science field 

· Three(3) years of experience managing EHS issues or compliance programs 

· Knowledge and experience with certification of plumbing products  

· Ability to communicate effectively and interpersonal skills required 

· Familiar with EPA’s Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of RCRA, Subtitle C (Hazardous Waste) 

· Experience in managing/handling compliance issues, permitting for all media, OSHA/EPA programs, regulatory reviews, permit preparation, reporting and record keeping. 

· Experience in evaluating/interpreting OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations and ANSI, ASTM, ASME, UL and ASSE standards. 

· Experience with regulatory audits with Federal, State and 3rd party auditors 

· Chrome plating processing and packaging industrial experience 

· Working knowledge of OSHA regulations 29 CFR 1910 and Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA).  

· Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP) not required but a plus.
