PPG delivers high quality plumbing products and expert solutions to create best-in-class customer experience. The Quality Assurance Senior Manager will plan, prepare, coordinate, and monitor PPG’s Quality Management System.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Sr Manager position is responsible for the planning, preparing, coordinating, and monitoring of the PPG Quality Management System and assigned QC Projects. Monitor compliance to applicable practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications. Interact daily with sales, marketing, engineering, and operations personnel. Cooperate and communicate effectively with managers and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support. Manage a team of quality engineers and inspectors through performance management

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Have operational responsibility for Business Unit’s quality management system and quality output of products
  • Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other functional leaders to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Be responsible for the development and maintenance of the quality system policies and procedures of PPG – including control plans, inspection procedures, capability studies etc.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of PPG Quality Department
  • Have functional ownership of the customer RGA process and related corrective actions.
  • Drive key measurements for suppliers which are quantifiable and measurable and which strategic performance is measured against. 
  • Support and develop results through Continuous Improvement methodology to ensure results are maintained and benefits are sustainable over the long term.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Project Management and Customer service teams, communicate, and provide technical support to solve quality issues.
  • Analyze complex data, situations and develop range of solutions.
  • Investigate/Correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality
  • Provide monthly reporting regarding quality related performance, review customer complaints, determine the appropriated corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Approve all expenditures within the confines of the department’s operating and capital expense budgets.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Review, streamline, enhance and develop the quality management system
  • Ensure KPIs for inspection and testing plans are in place and directing improvement efforts appropriately
  • Establish clear, measurable targets to ensure effective work and controls are in place; clear scope of work and directions to department personnel.
  • Review efficiency and remove redundancy of department work.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed, up to 20%.

 QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EDUCATION REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE:

  • Knowledge and work experience of developing new products, resourcing project management, preferably at management level.
  • Bachelor of Science and/or recognized equivalent educational credential and work experience.
  • Knowledge and work experience in plumbing or similar industry, preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in quality area with a managerial role
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral presentations for customers, vendors, or associates.
  • Ability to assign work, schedule and prioritize to obtain effective results within the department.
