The IT Administrator as a member of the worldwide IT support organization will be responsible for maintaining desktop and network systems. Primary responsibility is supporting Power Integrations’ UK and European offices. The position requires travel up to 25% of the time to remote sites.

The ideal candidate for this position is a senior Desktop Analyst who has expand their skills in preparation to obtain the Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching certification.

Your duties will include

  • Support end user PCs and workstations as part of the worldwide Service Desk team
  • Provide end user training on supported applications; Outlook, WebEx, video conferencing, phones and Jabber
  • Work closely with corporate IT and local management to understand future computing and network needs and plan for network changes
  • Support corporate and local purchasing to identify and qualify in region vendors
  • Communicates major outages to customers and IT providers, coordinating local response
  • Support corporate projects that are designed to add functionality or to address ongoing network performance issues
  • Assist in IT Governance activities, including SOX audits and SOC/ISO certifications as required
  • Resolve network and end user computing issues
  • Monitor the network and proactively address identified issues
  • Manage building monitoring and automation systems such as access control, surveillance, solar system etc.
  • A 4 year degree in a computer-related field or equivalent technical training and work experience in a Windows desktop and server environment is required
  • 5 years of desktop support experience
  • 2+ years successful network support experience
  • Must be able to complete small to moderate projects with minimal supervision
  • Experience in managing the network for a 50+ person office network
  • Familiar with providing end user remote support
  • Troubleshooting TCP/IP networking issues and services
  • Knowledge if system security, patch management and data backup/recovery
  • Experience with collaboration services such as VOIP phones, video conferencing and WebEx
  • Exposure to Active Directory and Office 365 environment as well as virtual server technology such as VMware
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Very good German and English language skills (speaking and writing)
