System Architect Big Data, Integrations, Engineering Systems

 

Job Description: 

 

The System Architect, Big Data, Integrations and Engineering Systems is responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, and support of Power Integrations’ systems related to Big Data, System Integration and Engineering applications.  Implementation experience in both on premise and in the Cloud are required, and the ability to determine and analyze the right deployment option (cloud, on premises, hybrid) are essential to derive at cost-effective, optimal designs and systems.  Implementation experience with 50 Terabyte or greater Big Data systems is a prerequisite. The role requires experience integrating hybrid and cloud systems with in-depth experience with at least one integration product, such as Talend or Informatica

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Architect, implement and support Power Integrations’ Big Data platform
  • Consolidate and migrate all of Power Integrations BI and reporting systems to the Big Data platform
  • Create an ecosystem to leverage Big Data for Machine Learning, AI and other auxiliary data services
  • Standardize System integrations to a single integration tool, and facilitate and oversee the migration off existing ETL and integration products
  • Support and enhance existing System integrations
  • Work with business stake holders to deliver systems that meet business requirements
  • Manage and deliver programs and projects on time and budget

 

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in managing and implementing Big Data solutions and systems
  • Experience with Data Lakes that are based on S3 compatible object stores
  • Experience with distributed query engines, ideally Presto
  • Experience with Spark
  • Experience with both AWS Big Data solutions and on premises Big Data implementations
  • Database administration expertise of relational and columnar databases
  • Ability to work with large data sets with highly diverse data in multiple types and formats, and sources
  • Must have worked on big data solution implementations exceeding 50 Terabytes in size
  • Software development experience and knowledge with Java or Python
  • Hands-on experience with at least one System Integration platform such as Talend, Informatica, Mulesoft or others
  • Program and Project Management experience
  • A proven ability and history of working effectively with offshore employees and consultants
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) major or equivalent experience required
