Power Integrations, Inc., is a Silicon Valley-based supplier of high-performance electronic components used in high-voltage power-conversion systems.  Our SCALE™ IGBT drivers enhance the efficiency, reliability and cost of high-power applications such as industrial motor drives, solar and wind energy systems, electric vehicles and high-voltage DC transmission.

For our Automotive Team in Ense, Germany (NRW), we are currently recruiting for a

Product Development Engineer

Main Responsibilities:

  • Circuit design for power electronic components in automotive and industrial applications (e.g. gate drivers) including selection and evaluation of suitable components
  • Transfer of projects from development to production
  • Low voltage evaluation of analog and digital circuits
  • Low and high voltage evaluation of power electronic components
  • Pre-research of technologies related to future product developments
  • Collaboration with and support to related groups like Business Development, Marketing, ASIC Development, Application Engineering, Operations, Quality Department, etc.
  • Development of Documentation, Datasheets, Application Notes and related measurement protocols

Required education and work experience:

  • Degree in electrical engineering (Master or Bachelor degree) or state certified technician in the related fields of electronics
  • Completed apprenticeship
  • Knowledge in 
    • Analog and digital circuit design
    • Switch mode power supplies
    • Power electronic components (e.g. IGBT, MOSFET, SiC MOSFET, Gate Driver) and/or inverter systems
    • Experience in circuit design
    • Circuit design with CAD systems (e.g. Altium Designer) and simulation tools (e.g. LTspice, Micro-Cap...)
    • Development and dimensioning of analog and digital circuits
    • Development and dimensioning of switch mode power supplies
    • Good knowledge of national and international standards (e.g. IPC, DIN EN, VDE, IEC, ISO)
    • Knowledge of Functional Safety requirements acc. to ISO 26262
    • Characterization of gate drivers, power semiconductors and/or inverter systems
    • Experienced or familiar in the use of tools like MS Office, Micro-Cap, LTspice, Mathlab, Jira, Fidelia
