  • Research and define Switch-mode Power Supply (SMPS) topologies based on the specialties of the company's products
  • Assist in the development of algorithms to optimize power supplies using PI’s products and contribute in improving the PI Expert Software Suite
  • Assist in new product development and explore new applications for PI’s IC products
  • Design and develop automotive switching power supply units (PSU) using the company's products for documentation/training materials or customer requirements
  • Evaluate, document, and optimize switching power supplies built with the company’s products
  • Provide design support and technical advice to the company's customers
  • Develop technical application materials for publication and presentation at technical conferences, industry seminars, trade magazines, and data books
  • Other duties related to role as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields
  • Good understanding of Power Electronics fundamentals
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as Power Supply Design Engineer or design experience in any of the following areas: power converters/conversion/management, switching/switch mode power supply units (PSU), inverters, power electronics design equipment, analog electronics design, control loop design and power magnetics design (transformer, chokes or inductors)
  • Experience designing power electronic circuitry for industrial electronic equipment or consumer devices
  • Good written and oral communications with experience in specification creation, technical report writing and test plans/instructions
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Learning capability and willingness to pursue further education
  • Resilient under stress even in tough situations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team player


  • Experience in circuit design and layout of printed circuit boards with CAD systems (e.g. Altium Designer) and simulation tools (e.g. Micro-Cap, Simetrix/SIMPLIS)
  • Experience in designing of power electronic circuitry for automotive electronic equipment
  • Experienced in characterization of gate drivers, power semiconductors and/or inverter systems
  • Knowledge of international standards (e.g. DIN EN, VDE, IEC, ISO)
