Job Description:
Staff Power Electronics Engineer will be responsible to support Power Integrations customers in China on timely quality problem resolution to ensure customer satisfaction. This person will act as a technical interface between factory and the customers in resolving customers’ production and field quality problems, thereby promoting PI’s quality value.
- Will report to director of Quality and Reliability in Power Integrations headquarters.
- Work closely with and receive guidance from Sales director in Power Integrations at Shenzhen, China on a day-to-day basis.
- Assist PI Sales teams in China and Taiwan on customer quality matters
- Visit customers as necessary to resolve customer satisfaction arising from production, field failure and other quality issue
- Perform initial system level evaluation of customer applications for verification of problems as reported by the customer
- Prepare preliminary reports in English and Chinese for customers and the failure analysis engineers at PI HQ. Facilitate and manage the problem resolution with support from Engineering counterparts in company headquarters.
- Obtain failure analysis data and results from his/her counterparts in company headquarters failure analysis engineering groups and prepare failure analysis reports in English and Mandarin.
- Provide comprehensive technical reports to customers on results of IC level and power supply level failure analysis.
- Assist customers on application level corrective actions and countermeasures, if applicable, to prevent or improve field failures.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English.
- Must have direct experience in customer interface on resolution of customer quality problems.
- At least 5 years of engineering experience in Switch-mode Power Supply applications, technical problem solving, and analog, and/or mixed signal integrated circuit devices.
- Experience in failure analysis of power conversion ICs, both digital and analog, and/or mixed signal IC devices.
- Hands-on experience in failure analysis, and electrical fault isolation using curve-tracers, oscilloscopes, etc, at IC level
- Ability to interpret system level schematics & IC level schematics is an added advantage.
Education:
- BS. degree in electrical engineering or equivalent technical discipline with ≥8 years of experience.
- MSEE or equivalent discipline with ≥5 years of working experience is preferred.
