PCB Layout Engineer
Description
Job Summary
As a PCB Layout Engineer, you will be responsible for the board layout and all PCB-related tasks for all products and reference designs under the System Engineering Automotive group.
Responsibilities
- Layout of printed circuit boards for automotive applications, including the compilation of related production data for manufacturing partners
- Creation and maintenance of component libraries and databases (component symbols, footprints, component parameters)
- Support design engineers by generating the necessary technical documentation for Application Notes, Datasheets or customer support requests
- Collaborate with and support related automotive and industrial groups like Business Development, Marketing, ASIC Development, Operations, Quality Department, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related fields
- 2 years of experience in the layout of printed circuit boards using common industry CAD systems (e.g., Altium Designer, Allegro, Orcad)
- Good understanding of PCB layout fundamental concepts and how it is applied to board design
- Knowledge of international standards applicable to board design
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Good learning capability and willingness to pursue further education
- Strong organizational skills
- Team player
Preferred
- Experience communicating with Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS)
- Proficient in the use of 3D modeling software such as Solidworks
- Experience in the PCB design of power electronic systems (power supplies, motor drivers, gate drivers, etc.)
