Job Type: Part-Time
Pay: $30-$40 per hour
The Bilingual Early Intervention Specialist (EIS) position consists of providing direct clinical work and, after an appropriate training period to be determined by the clinician's supervisor, functioning as the main case manager for specific families, as assigned. This work would be done under the supervision of the Early Birds Director, or Program Manager.
This position involves continuing to integrate more fully the principles of Early Intervention (EI) and Developmental Relationship-Based Interventions (DRBI) provided in supervision and during staff trainings. To qualify for this position, the expectation is that the employee would quickly become well-versed in the basics of Early Intervention and have an extensive background in working with children aged Birth to 3 years old. You will be supporting our Early Birds Early Intervention program, primarily in South Ventura County.
Job Duties:
- Carry out home sessions using EI principles specifically tailored to the child, under the supervision of the program manager.
- Provide services in Spanish when this is the child or family’s preferred language.
- Train in and carry out evaluations for Early Birds including the DAY-C.
- Train in and eventually write assessments and any other clinical notes on the children seen.
- Participate in EI supervision with notes, questions, and video clips as requested by your supervisor.
- Make calls to families to arrange for scheduling, find mutually agreeable times for groups, and organize any other logistical details.
- Attend monthly staff and training meetings and be prepared to contribute to discussions on cases presented.
- When directed, attend any outside meetings, involving the enrolled child and be the contact person for the Tri-Counties Regional Center (TCRC) service coordinator for each case.
- When directed, work on special clinical projects, presentations or other duties, as assigned and agreed upon.
- Follow Positive Development administrative requests such as keeping current notes, progress reports, employee certifications, or any other required documentation/renewals necessary for continued employment.
Requirements:
- Bilingual in Spanish is required
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree is required; Master's Degree is a bonus but not required
- Must have experience working with 0-3 and some experience working with infants/toddlers with or at risk for developmental delays/disabilities
- Must be comfortable traveling to clients' homes throughout the South Ventura area (Simi Valley, Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Fillmore, Oak Park, Camarillo)
