Position Overview

The role offers an experienced, software-industry, business consultant the unique opportunity to help evolve and grow the capabilities and impact of Value Engineering across Plex and its customers.  In this role, you will collaborate with Account Executives, Solution Engineers, Professional Services, Customer Success, and Marketing to establish a shared vision with our customers and help them achieve their operational goals.  This is a high-profile position and resides within the Sales organization. 

Job Responsibilities

Key responsibilities are the following:

  • Collaborate with Account Executives, Solution Engineers, and Services personnel on sales campaigns; while developing, positioning, and articulating the value of Plex
  • Work with Sales team to craft executive-level presentations for key opportunities
  • Engage across multiple accounts, segments, and industry sectors that Plex serves
  • Participate and lead, client-facing ‘Discovery’ calls/meetings for identifying potential value and solution fit
  • Perform Value Engineering-led customer engagements, including the collection of customer data for generating and delivering compelling business case presentations
  • Develop expertise around vertical-specific KPIs and business objectives and formulate how Plex solutions can address those objectives.
  • Aid in the development of value-based selling collateral for incorporation and standardization within the Plex Sales model
  • Work with Solution Engineers to establish the corresponding value for key use cases
  • Engage with Customer Success team for capturing the value Plex customers realize
  • Use and maintain analytical tools for generating value insights
  • Maintain libraries and databases of benchmarking data, findings, and other pertinent information

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Management
  • 7-10 years prior Value Engineering/Business Consulting software sales experience
  • Industry or Consulting experiences in Manufacturing or Supply Chain Operations
  • Experience in building business cases, including financial analyses (ROI, NPV, PB)
  • Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills
  • Technical capabilities in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel
  • Proficiency in performing online business research
  • Collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Industry Advisor/Thought Leader reputation is a strong plus
  • Executive presence and experience conducting "C" level conversations
  • MES and/or ERP experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with Force Management “Command of the Message/Command of the Sale” methodology
  • Knowledge of MEDDIC sales methodology
