Playground Games is looking for an Experienced Level Designer to join our Forza Horizon team on a contract basis.  

ABOUT US:   

As a premier first-party Xbox Game Studio, we are passionate about making genre-defining games that are accessible, beautiful, and most of all fun. We are looking to expand our diverse team as we continue driving forward our BAFTA award-winning Forza Horizon franchise.       

ABOUT THE ROLE:  

As a key member of the Forza Horizon Level Design team, you’ll take responsibility for building large sections of our game worlds, creating genre-leading event designs, and implementing key gameplay features. You will drive best practice, effectively collaborating with our world class technical and creative teams.     

You will consistently push for quality, quickly and positively react to change, and be an excellent, approachable communicator.     

This is a contract role based in our state-of-the-art studio in Royal Leamington Spa. We have a hybrid work model in place with a minimum of 3 days a week in the studio. Relocation assistance is available if required.   

WHAT YOU’LL DO:   

  • Create, own, and maintain multiple areas of our game world   
  • Work with a highly motivated, talented cross discipline team   
  • Use our custom, propriety engine and tools to build genre-leading gameplay experiences   

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:  

  • At least one shipped title in a Level Design role  
  • Experience with multiple software packages such as 3DS Max, Mudbox and Photoshop (or equivalents)  
  • Ability to create a whitebox environment and develop it through to shippable quality  
  • Ideally, experience in building AAA open world environments  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  • Strong organisational and time management skills  
  • A genuine passion for games
