Playground Games is looking for an Experienced UI Artist to join our talented Forza Horizon team here in Leamington Spa on a contract basis.

As a premier first-party Xbox Game Studio, we are passionate about making genre-defining games that are accessible, beautiful, and most of all fun. We are looking to expand our diverse team as we continue driving forward our BAFTA award-winning Forza Horizon franchise. 

About the Role: 

As an important member of the team, you’ll be responsible for creating consistently high-quality UI art and raising the bar for user interface content in our titles.

Working closely with the Lead UI Artist, you will be responsible for concepting and implementing key areas of the game's presentation. You will also be working with both Design and Engineering teams in areas of flow and functionality, to ensure a seamless user experience. You must be a flexible, highly motivated and detail conscious game developer.

This is a contract role based at our state-of-the-art facilities in Royal Leamington Spa. We have a hybrid work model in place with a minimum of 3 days a week in studio. Relocation assistance is available if required.   

What you’ll do

  • Create high level visuals maintaining a cohesive art style and layout set in the UI art bibles, while ensuring design features are met.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members across various departments, delivering tasks on time and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Take part in review sessions and voice your opinion.
  • Learn and understand the UI development process so you can become an integral part of the team going forward.
  • Take full advantage of the experienced team around you and hone your UI skills while keeping up to date with the latest design trends.

What you will bring

  • A full development cycle experience with ideally one AAA game shipped.
  • A deep understanding of UI/UX Design.
  • A good knowledge of the Adobe Suite.
  • Typography and Motion Graphics skills.
  • An eye for detail.
  •  Excellent communication skills.
  • A passion for games.
