The Business Engagement Specialist is responsible for cultivating strategic relationships with various employers that increase and maintain internship and job opportunities, for participants across PHS’s community and workforce programs. The position will utilize business development and customer relationship management best practices to support businesses in meeting their hiring needs and provide workforce solutions, thereby supporting PHS programs and participants in meeting their employment outcome goals.

  • Experience developing private sector jobs, and building and maintaining relationships with employers.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in placement, external relations, business engagement/outreach.
  • Awareness of employment laws and policies in Seattle, King County, Washington State, and nationally.
  • High level of efficiency and independent task management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Initiative, creativity, reliability, flexibility, and thoroughness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet usage.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, psychology, sociology, political science, human services - or comparable experience.
  • Must possess transportation and valid Washington State Driver's License.
