Kitchen Lab Technician

 

 

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Kitchen Lab Technician to join our Pilgirm’s Research & Development team here in Greeley, CO! The Kitchen Technician position is a foundational part of the Pilgrim’s culture to support a team towards consumer led, culinary inspired, and scalable innovation. This position will support a new world class model towards Culinology, starting with kitchen management, streamlining the internal support of new products, delivered through a best in class customer experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for kitchen cleanliness and daily sanitation.
  • Organize daily scheduling of the kitchen space and equipment needs.
  • Maintain a culture of safety best practices and SOPs.
  • Manage ingredient inventories of dry and perishable goods.
  • Assist with pantry ordering, ingredient shopping, and small-ware purchases.
  • Responsible for daily receiving of incoming products and ingredients.
  • Schedule and execute logistics for internal sensory testing
  • Execute R&D testing protocols for bench top prototype development.
  • Share pilot plant cleaning and organizational needs
  • Execution of product analysis with direction from culinary lead (Cook time testing, product dimensions collection, product weight collection, and product attributes analysis)
  • Assist with internal team product training as needed.
  • Support execution of sensory testing consisting of cooking of product, timing, and product delivery.
  • Coordinate kitchen logistics and hospitality efforts with customer visits.
  • Facilitate FOH customer needs with Sales and Marketing team partners.
  • Assist off-site customer experiences alongside culinary and R&D team.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a professional kitchen or other culinary environment (food processing) required.
  • Strong sense of urgency; able to pivot to changing business needs
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong food safety background through experience with a facility under USDA, FDA, Local health department or through other training is a plus
  • Must be able to handle physical activity which includes the following: lift minimum 50 lbs. and stand on your feet for long periods of time (4-6) hrs.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $19/hr;
