DESCRIPTION: 
  • Lead and direct a team of security professionals, including hiring selection, training, mentoring, and evaluating performance 
  • Oversee strategy 
  • Routinely audit processes to ensure compliance and discover mitigation efforts  
  • Be proactive to seek out opportunities to prevent security breaches 
    • Uncover strategies to prevent future breaches 
  • Ensure the security team remains fully staffed at all times 
  • Test procedures to ensure adherence  
    • Physical Audits Checks at minimum 2x/month 
  • Provide expertise and guidance, working closely with plant leadership team to contain, analyze, and remediate security breaches or threats. Contribute to post-incident reviews and develop recommendations for improving incident response capabilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Shipping, Procurement, HR, vendors, etc.) to ensure the integration of security measures into business processes and systems
  • Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of controls engineering efforts
  • Deliver routine updates in Security group meetings, sharing relevant information, progress reports, and insights
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in security operations and recommend improvements to enhance the organization's security posture
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in the information security community, including new vulnerabilities, methodologies, and products. Share relevant information with team members and Management
  • Responsible for managing a secure entrance and perimeter for the facility
  • Learn all the jobs of your immediate staff
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate performance of staff;
    • Implement disciplinary procedures when necessary
  • Resolve employees’ conflicts and issues promptly and objectively
  • Quality direct communication with company and outside services
  • Work with the Plant Shipping/ Offal/ Live Receiving/ Traffic areas
  • Other duties as assigned
 
QUALIFICATIONS:       
  • Previous security related experience a plus
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Computer skills required
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to handle conflict
  • Communication skills—written and verbal
  • Ability to speak multiple languages beneficial but not required
  • Self-starter & Team player
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective people skills
  • Good attendance record
  • Must be able to work flexible hours
  • Saturday & Sunday hours as needed or required
