Logistics Assistant
Purpose and Scope/General Summary: Pilgrim’s is seeking a Logistics Assistant to coordinate and communicate daily shipment activity across carriers, customers, plant operations, and sales teams. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate updates, investigating and resolving shipment delays, and maintaining strong relationships with carriers. The ideal candidate will provide consistent, clear communication and support to all stakeholders while driving efficient logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison between carriers, customers, plant teams, and sales by providing daily shipment updates to Pilgrim’s customers and teams.
- Ensure all shipment updates are delivered accurately and within established deadlines set by sales, customers and executives.
- Investigate and document root causes for late or delayed loads.
- Communicate shipment details clearly and consistently in the required formats for internal teams and customers.
- Support the Carrier Support team with issue resolution and operational needs.
- Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with carriers and drivers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information via phone and email.
- Familiarity with the transportation industry preferred.
- Working knowledge of SAP preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to follow through on tasks and commitments.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast- paced environment.
- Comfortable receiving feedback and handling pushback professionally.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
- Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
- Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
- Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
- 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
- Base salary of $20/hour;

The posted salary range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the compensation that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, tenure, internal equity, market data, and may vary accordingly.
