Position Title: Senior Analyst, Prospect Developmentt
Position Classification: Regular; Exempt; Full-Time; 40 hours/week
Reports to: Senior Director of Prospect Management and Research
Location: Employees in this role can work from our Boston, MA office, remotely within the U.S. or hybrid of these two options.

Position Overview
The Prospect Development Specialist will conduct advanced proactive and reactive in-depth research on individuals, corporations, and foundations to find those whose goals and interests best align with a philanthropic investment for Partners In Health (PIH). As a critical member of the Prospect Research team, the Specialist will work alongside other members of the Prospect Management and Research team and report to the Senior Director of Prospect Management and Research.
 
Responsibilities
  • Collects, synthesizes, analyzes, and interprets biographical and financial data to produce briefings and reports that inform decision-making by PIH leadership; these reports include calculated wealth estimates and capacity ratings that indicate the ability and propensity of individuals, corporations, and foundations to make philanthropic contributions to and serve in volunteer capacities for PIH.
  • Manages and leads new prospect identification projects and conducts prospect development research for Major Gifts and Principal Gifts and Leadership Giving teams using complex reporting, wealth screening, and data modeling.
  • Uses prospecting tools, such as data screening and modeling, to provide analyses of targeted groups and overall prospect pool. Works as bridge to Prospect Management function to develop and sustain prospect channels and balanced portfolios.
  • Develops and maintains ongoing, collaborative relationships with the Private Sector and Public Sector teams, and Board Engagement team, including managing special projects for prospect development.
  • Develops and delivers training sessions to Prospect Management and Research staff and other Development staff in support of prospect development processes, special projects, and data management in Salesforce.
  • Develops and manages Governance and Nominating Committee research and tracking in collaboration with the Board Engagement Team.
  • Maintains constituent data in the Salesforce database for use by all development staff and assists with usage as needed.
  • Maintains and upholds the professional and ethical standards set by the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA).
  • Works collaboratively with the PIH Prospect Research Team and larger PIH Development Team and offers support when available.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 to 8 years of prospect research experience for fundraising/development or relevant transferable experience.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills; demonstrated cultural competency and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across departments and countries and in low-income countries.
  • Solid computer skills in a PC environment with the capability to master new software applications and technologies in database management; strong experience with online databases and Internet searching. Excellent skills in the functional use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of Salesforce a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity.
  • Ability to locate and interpret biographic and financial information from a variety of sources.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and re-prioritize as needed.
  • Interest in social justice strongly desirable.

Pay and Benefits 
The expected starting salary range for new hires in this position is between $75,000-$80,000/year and may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market for the position, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The position belongs to a class of roles that have a salary range between $70,000-$85,000/year.
 

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan with employer match, as well as participate in organization-sponsored medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Full time employees will receive 15 days of vacation, 12 sick days, 3 personal days, and 3 volunteer days in addition to paid time off during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day, the week of July 4th, and 11 additional holidays annually.
