What you will do:
The Patient Access Specialist Level I is primarily responsible for completing an efficient and organized registration, admission and insurance verification of all inpatients and outpatients. Determines patient financial responsibility, makes appropriate financial arrangements with patients per hospital policy. Ability to work in a fast-paces professional environment. Excellent customer service skills are crucial in this role, as the Patient Access Specialist must ensure that accurate information is collected, that they are always sensitive to the confidentiality of this information, and that patients are aware of their rights as determined by HIPAA regulations and hospital policy.
 
Preferred Education:
High school diploma or equivalent

Required Skills:
Computer keyboarding, medical terminology
 
Preferred Skills:
Meditech, Microsoft Office
 
Required Experience:
At least 6 months of previous customer service experience
 
Preferred Experience:
At least 6 months of previous customer service experience in an office/medical office environment
