The Associate Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) Steward will be responsible for assuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of one or many critical master data objects on SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) system and cross reference tables in SAP S4. Critical master data encompasses finished goods, non-finished goods, customer master, supplier master and finance master data. (General Ledger, Cost Center and Profit Center) value streams.  As a “content expert”, a colleague in this position is accountable for associated daily operational processes and functions.  This involves the ability to effectively communicate the related implications of the various options on multiple integrated systems, interfaces, and processes.  This position may participate on cross-functional teams. 


  • Acts as primary liaison with other master data teams for issues relating to the impacts of master data integrity
  • Maintains Data integrity in the MDG tool and CFIN cross reference tables for Customer and Product data
  • Maintains, communicates and enforces policies and procedures documents for relevant master data processes and functions
  • Acts as process expert for the critical master data area of responsibility
  • Manages the use of MDG (Master Data Governance) software and process to drive process improvement
  • Acts as a backup to publish appropriate master data in GS1 external registry and communicates as needed with internal users in Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Commercial functional teams
  • Collaborates with MDM Analysts, Federated Network and Data Stewards on master data initiatives
  • Manages and supports review and resolution of issues received /identified on critical master data transactions
  • Represents MDM on appropriate business initiatives and improvement projects
  • Drives the implementation and enforces data policies, processes, procedure, and standards
  • Manages data quality improvement projects based on data analytics and works with business units to strengthen user competence
  • Manages SAP Information Steward to monitor data quality and leads expansion of Information Steward to additional data objects and attributes
  • Develops and publishes critical master data metrics and reporting
  • Ensures Governance documentation in IVM is organized and accessible. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information stored on enterprise computing systems. Creates and maintains documentation for critical master data for updated or new process, procedures or rules
  • Identifies opportunities and actively participates in process improvement initiatives
  • Works closely with business functional areas (team members, Stewards, managers, VP’s, and EVP’s) to articulate improvements and solutions. Communicates status on progress of solution implementation
  • Takes responsibility for personal development and continuing education
Required Experience:
  • Experience in SAP Information Steward – preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to analyze large amounts of data and summarize into clear conclusions and recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with various functional groups within the organization and external customers
  • Strong results focus and goal achievement skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and lead teams in problem solving
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong work-organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload
  • Advanced in Excel, Access, Power Point, Word and other Microsoft applications
  • Experience with SAP Data Services/Information Steward plus
  • These skills are typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelors degree within a related field; combined with a minimum of 7 years of master data experience - SAP preferred
  • 5+ years of experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods industry preferred
