Customer Category Manager
Great location, Brilliant Career Opportunity in our Vauxhall Bridge (London) office for a Customer Category Manager
Reporting to the Category Controller, you will have every opportunity to help define the team’s strategies.
As Category Manager you would be an impartial category consultant responsible for the development of joint category strategies across Healthcare categories in collaboration with a key retailer; defining what it takes to win and measuring success in accordance with this.
You will be responsible for analysing data, interpreting market trends, drawing conclusions and developing ‘so what’ category solutions to ensure that the retailer remain competitive and grows ahead of the market. You will be work alongside Commercial Strategy Managers, who are experts in specific categories, but independently of the commercial team in order for you to provide unbiased recommendations to your retailer contacts.
You must be excellent at building and maintaining rapport with a diverse audience, as well as being capable of analysing a variety of data sources to build compelling and innovative solutions to grow categories. This role needs an individual who is proactive and driven with a passion to achieve. You also need to be able to separate and prioritise differing demands from internal and external stakeholders.
Our ideal candidate will have a background in healthcare, a strong foundation in commercial and an excellent understanding of retailer challenges; with at least 5 years’ experience in Category Management, Commercial Strategy, Account Management or Buying. You should be able to demonstrate your record of accomplishments through examples of strategies and initiatives, which you developed and implemented, that delivered a triple win.
As well as being great at influencing, it is key you are numerate, analytical and PC literate, especially Excel and JDA Space Planning.
