Compensation:  $150K+
 
Our client has developed a tool that automates the software work for end-to-end accessibility compliance in ADA, EAA, WCAG, and others. They work with developers and companies to proactively ensure their digital assets are inclusive from inception. Their platform helps detect accessibility violations. remediate issues, continuously monitor as well as view real-time metrics.
 
They are looking for a driven and innovative ML software engineer as their founding AI Engineer to ideate, scope, and train custom vision and navigation models for previously unsolvable problems that deliver significant value for our customers and, in turn, their customers. 
 
You will have the opportunity to create novel models across domains that push beyond the boundary of existing foundational models for our most strategic and high-impact platform customers and serve as the technical authority for the model customization program.
 
You will be responsible for transforming difficult Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) rules into repeatable model inferences. The day-to-day tasks include writing novel and fine-tuned models, defining technical standards for industry gray areas, and scaling machine learning services to consistently perform for customers. Because they are rapidly growing, they expect you to be a fast learner.
 
While the role is primarily located in the New York City Metropolitan Area, there is flexibility for working remotely one day a week.
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain accessibility testing and remediation tools.
  • Create AI-driven solutions for WCAG compliance.
  • Engage in continuous learning and adapt to innovative technologies.
  • Work closely with Fortune 1000 clients to understand and solve accessibility challenges.
 
Qualifications
  • Have 5 + years of software engineering and ML experience in deployed environments.
  • Specialize in computer vision tasks such as object detection, image captioning, image
  • classification, visual relationship detection, and video analysis.
  • Operate with high horsepower, be adept at frequent context switching and working on multiple projects at once with expansive ownership, and ruthlessly prioritize.
  • Experience in accessibility and compliance a plus
  • Strong understanding of WCAG and ARIAa a plus
  • IAAP certification a plus
