The PENTA Building Group is searching for Senior Superintendents to join our team in Los Angeles County and Orange County!
 
A PENTA Senior Superintendent's primary function is effective management of all field operations on the project and, in conjunction with the Project Manager, assumes overall responsibility and accountability for all factors contributing to the success of the project.
 
A PENTA Senior Superintendent will also:
  • Promote the company’s safety culture by understanding OSHA requirements & the company's safety policies and procedures. Review and approve all safety related documentation. Monitor site safety conditions.
  • Be the project leader, create agenda, and conduct field subcontractor coordination meetings and owner's meetings with minor oversight from General Superintendent or Project Executive.
  • Create job site specific policy; review and approve subcontractor's QA/QC policy; ensure field compliance, work closely with QC department to ensure they are engaged and informed of the project prior to installation.
  • Lead and manage the start-up process to ensure PENTA's project start up policies and procedures are enforced.
  • Ensure daily reports are being written, review them for quality, and verify that all action items are being addressed.
  • Provide oversight of submittal/approval/delivery process to ensure that there will be no delays to the construction schedule.
  • Work with project management regarding buy-out and procurement for all areas of the project.
  • Assist in the development subcontract Exhibit A prior to award and provide recommendations to minimize scope gap and schedule impacts. 
  • Lead in developing and updating the project master schedule.
  • Communicate the sequence of the project with details, durations, and assess production and crew sizes and adjust accordingly.
  • Monitor crew sizes for budget compliance. Sit in preconstruction meetings to assist in developing crew sizes, production rates, and equipment needs.
  • Preplan and schedule life safety system testing scenarios, including number of teams, contractors involved, and in which areas to start in along with sequence throughout the project.
  • Assist superintendents with all hoisting plan requirements (crane and personnel hoists) and perform crane and hoist analysis.
  • Identify all impacted trade scopes and coordinate with PM to project estimated cost and schedule impact. Defend or dispute extra work tickets and contract scope of work at field level.
  • Lead BIM/VDC coordination meetings and ensure that all subcontractors are participating as required. Provide resolutions to design team for design flaws.
  • Develop detailed logistics plan for much larger and complex projects. Identify any specialty equipment and hazards on the project. Coordinate with owner's reps and ensure the logistics plan works with the owner's operations.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of reports for project close-out.
  • Lead, teach, and mentor other project team members such as Project Engineers, Interns, Superintendents, etc.

We trust that you have:
  • 7-10 years minimum of prior experience in a Construction Superintendent role
  • Experience working on large commercial construction projects is preferred, and OSHPD/HCAI is a plus
  • Prior experience leading and managing a team of direct reports
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification is required
  • Degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred
  • Proficiency in utilizing programs such as P6, Bluebeam, and Autodesk Build
  • Fluency in reading, quantifying, and analyzing construction drawings
  • Competent understanding of construction scheduling and sequencing
  • The ability to work efficiently on fast-paced construction projects with accelerated schedules
  • Flexibility to commute to project locations within the Los Angeles and Orange Counties
  • Salary Range DOE $120,000 - $170,000
 
The PENTA Building Group maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs, and market demands. The pay range may differ in other locations. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors and is in good faith and/or offer for this position.
